Q: Climate, Friendliness, Culture, Downtown Life, Economy etc etc.... Montreal: say, speaking French was not an issue.

A: climate - vancouver, montreal is too hot (for me anyway) in summer and too cold in winter friendliness - vancouver, they seem more approachable, maybe cos i dont speak french i was more wary of approaching someone in montreal, but whenever i needed help in van, some people went out of there way to help me. culture - montreal, its bigger than van and has more of a mix of cultures. van has a lot of asian culture tho, so if u like asian food and culture then maybe van is better for u. Downtown life..hard to choose on this one. Van (if u stay clear of dt eastside) downtown is very nice, its surrounded by water, has beaches, u can see the north shore mountains while youre walking around the streets, and is easy to get around. Montreal is bigger, has more going on,lot of stuff is underground so u can avoid the harsh winters. Economy - i cant say really for montreal, i worked in van for a year and using recruitment agencies picked up work no prob. But the cost of living is very expensive. as you can see i prefer vancouver, but i experienced it more than i did with montreal, which is also a great city
