about canadas customs?

Q: i bought something off ebay and the item should be here and the seller said the post office doesn't give tracking numbers for out of country orders...and he did give me a customs label #...and i cannot check online if it is here...i am confused and am not sure where i am supposed to go...do i go to any post office and give them the customs label #? i am from surrey bc... thanks

A: You haven't said where the shipment is coming from ... or how it was shipped. If the shipment was from the US to Canada, using United States Postal Service (USPS) or one of the courier companies like UPS or FedEx or DHL ... there's a tracking number. With ONE exception - something mailed through USPS using Priority Mail International AND the package was shipped Flat Rate Envelope. Unless you bought a document of some sort, I can't see it being shipped Flat Rate Envelope. Find out how it was shipped, and from where. The links below are the main pages for USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL respectively. I'm going to assume you mean that you have the CANADA customs label number. Once you've ascertained where it entered the country (or at least which port-of-entry it was coming through) ... contact Canada Customs at that location with the customs label number. If the number is for another customs service (like USCIS, for outbound packages) ... you need to check with that country's border point, if the tracking information leads you to a specific crossing.
