Q: Hey, I'm simply wondering where in Vancouver would be best to live for a student planning on attending UBC in the Fall. I'm looking more for rentals as I could never afford to buy. I realize res. is best for location but, I'm wanting more to live off campus. Thanks,

A: The closest to campus but off-campus rentals you can get is http://www.universitymarketplace.net/ . It's in the area known as The Village, basically 2 blocks off campus. This UBC Housing website has links to very helpful sites, and has information about many rental options: http://www.housing.ubc.ca/other_housing/housing_links.htm . I would reccomend factoring commute times into your decision. If you drive its quicker of course, but there is no free parking on campus, and you do get bus pass included in the price of tuition. Check http://www.translink.bc.ca/ for bus schedules and stops.
