Q: Me and a group of 10 girlfriends are planning a trip to vancouver, canada the first weekend in march,were traveling from the states and have never really visited the area. we will be driving up there sat morning, and staying at the bestwestern chatau on Granville, we have no clue what to do while were there saturday afternoon and sunday afternoon, we have heard of the night life there on granville so were covered for the evening.Is there any major shopping centers around granville, or any must sees, or restaurants that we should take a look at, i want to be able to map everything out from our hotel thats why im asking ahead of time.Thank you ! A: Walk up Granville Street two blocks and you will see Robson street. There are some neat stores such as Adidas, Urban Outfitters, Aldo outlet on Granville but Robson has Zara which you will like plus all the other stores. Pacific Centre mall is underneath and can be reached through Sears which is on the corner of Robson and Granville. Holt Renfrew is a department store in the mall which is like Sak's. Beautiful clothes and fancy name brand items. Great place to do wishful shopping. One block from Granville and Robson is Earls restaurant you will like it there. It is a loungey younger person place and it isn't expensive. Entrees are all less then $15 and they have lots of cool cocktails to order. If there is a hockey game on that night you will see lots of cute guys there. Check the link below for clubs, try to get on the guest list. They will let you in free or 2 for 1 one especially for 10 girls. Clubs on the Granville Strip are around $15 to get in otherwise. Have a few bevies in your room too will help on costs. Yaletown has some cool places to go to as well but it is mostly an older crowd. Good place to go for lunch the next day. If you want to squeeze something in touristy take a drive around Stanley Park before you head home. If you aren't too hung over! If you are under 25 you will need two pieces of ID to buy booze or get into clubs. They ask for one piece of government ID ( drivers license or passport ) and one piece of ID with your signature on it ( credit card or another piece of government ID ). You will be refused without the 2nd piece. It is the law so they have to ask for it. Have fun!
