Q: I'm looking to bring my own basmati rice over to Canada since I'm not sure exactly where to buy it... In Australia you just pick it up in Indian speciality stores. How does it work over there in Canada? Ok, What supermarket are there in Vancouver? Supermarkets I meant. Ok, thanks, because I usually don't find it in major supermarkets like Woolworths and Coles in Australia. Gee, I see sarcasm in one of the answers, but you don't really know what Low GI foods are? *Add Sarcasm* Find me a Canadian Low GI rice and I'll buy it...

A: Don't bother bringing any. There's lots of it here. You can buy it in the regular supermarkets, or in the Asian specialty supermarkets. In Richmond and in Coquitlam (both suburbs of Vancouver) there are Asian shopping malls with everything you could wish to find. Along Main Street there are blocks and blocks of Indian specialty stores.
