Q: if i make $30,000 yearly.

A: If you want to buy a place to live anywhere in the Greater Vancouver area on that salary, you have no hope. Not unless you have loads of money in the bank for a huge deposit. The Fraser Valley is your best bet for cheaper (but not cheap) homes. Check out: www.mls.ca for property prices - just click on the map of BC. If you plan to rent you can go anywhere in the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. Just check local rental listings on the Internet. If you chose North Vancouver (my old hometown that I miss so much), look up The North Shore News for lots of local info.
