Q: i am planning on moving to vancouver but before i move i would like to visit. i am planning to stay for at least a week. how much money would i need to be able to have fun, cover my hotel expenses, the expenses for transportation, and food.

A: Hey There I would stay at a hostel rather than a hotel. The one that I know of is good and the dorm rooms aren't what you think - fewer beds than a real dorm! That'll save you money. I guess it also depends on where you are coming from and what you would like to spend your money on. If you like to shop, then bring lots of money because there are lots of nifty places to shop!!! If you aren't too picky of where you want to eat - there are a lot of cheap sushi places in Vancouver... I guess I could easily make it by on about $50 a day for shared accomodations in a hostel (about $30), and food and bus fare.. but I'd rather go hiking than shopping.... So your living expenses, you could keep around $50 per day but whatever else - that is totally up to you! Cheers! http://www.hihostels.ca/pm/en/vancouverhostel_downtown.aspx?sortcode=2.3
