Q: I'm vacationing at the Sunshine Coast in BC this month, do you have any recommendations for must see attractions, things that I have to do while I am there? Thanks!

A: The nice thing about the Sunshine Coast is that it doesn't have what are usually called "attractions". Think about getting out on some hiking trails, there are lots of good ones. The only thing I can think of that you shouldn't miss is Skookumchuck Narrows, at the northern end near Earl's Cove. It's a place where a lot of water has to funnel through a small opening every time the tide changes, and this creates whirlpools and standing waves that must be seen to be believed. You have to walk in on a nice trail, about 45 minutes. Otherwise, just chill and enjoy the peace and quiet.
