Q: Bf is treating me to a weekend in Vancouver from San Francisco. I've never been to Canada, we'll only be there this Saturday and Sunday. Looks like it will be a rainy weekend. Any suggestions please! It would be greatly appreciated.
A: There are some wonderful restaurants, see what's nearby to your hotel. Check out Stanley Park. Grouse Mountain gives a fabulous view if it isn't raining. Granville Island has food shopping, galleries. Robson Street, Granville Rise, 4th Avenue for shopping, or just window shopping and strolling. Denman Street in the West End of Vancouver, for strolling and snacking. Don't let a little rain stop you, bring your rain gear. Museum of Anthroplogy at UBC. The Planetarium. Van Dusen Gardens, though there might not be much blooming yet it's still a nice garden.Capilano suspension bridge, on the way to Grouse Mountain. Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver if you like big trees. Take the bus out to Horseshoe Bay, have fish and chips at Troll's, watch the ferries come and go, there are a couple of really good little shops there too. The Yale Hotel for live blues.Spanish Banks for walking on the beach.You can get to all these places on the bus.
