What do I need to take a dog into Canada from Mexico?

Q: She's a chihuahua, three months old, although she'll be almost five when we go. Weighs about a kilo and a quarter. I'd prefer to take her in the cabin, if possible, because I don't know how they treat animals... They're pretty horrible with the baggage. If the rabies certificate is in spanish do I just have to translate it / have it translated?

A: Before travelling you will need to take your dog to a vet and get a certificate of health. The certificate should give a brief description of your dog and indicate that the animal is in good health. The only essential shot the dog must have is a rabies vaccination. The certificate should indicate the type of rabies vaccine that was used. There is no quarantine period. Here is a link that explains it. EDIT I would try to get a certificate in either English or French. If you get it translated I would recommended getting the English copy notarized just to be safe.
