Q: I am coming to Vancouver in a few days and I will head to Tofino. What is the cheapest transportation possible from Van. to Tofino. I have never been there in BC so please think that I am in Vancouver Bus Terminal. Then what?
A: The only way to get there same day by bus is taking the Greyhound. It will leave the Vancouver Bus Depot (Pacific Central) in the early mornings. It will take you onto the ferry and across from Horseshoe Bay to Duke Point in Nanaimo. If you want to see Victoria you can take the Pacific Coach Lines bus from Pacific Central to the downtown Victoria Bus Depot and then the Greyhound from there. The bus also leaves there early in the morning to Tofino so if you do it that way you need to go over to Victoria the day before as the bus leaves too early to do it all in one day. http://www.greyhound.ca/en/ http://www.pacificcoach.com/ That is the cheapest way besides hitching which I wouldn't recommend.
