A: I've lived in both cities and I would prefer to live in Toronto. Vancouver is a great place to visit because it is very beautiful geographically. It also has warmer winters than Toronto. Toronto is more metropolitan. It has more of a New York City vibe, all while being a very safe place to live (one of the safest in Canada, per capita). Fantastic restaurants. Amazing night-life. World-class cultural institutions. World-renowned educational facilities. Vancouver has by far the worst homeless and drug problem in all of Canada. Vancouver's Hastings Street is easily one of the most violent, drug-infested streets in North America. On top of that, Vancouver is by far the most expensive city in Canada to own a house. Vancouver's still great overall, but I'll take Toronto any day.
