Q: Anybody can recommend a nice motel/hotel/B&B when traveling from Vancouver to Calgary? Not so expensive please! I am looking to find off the beaten track places..
A: Try Emerald Lake Lodge just east of Golden BC. Not busy and touristy like Banff or Lake Louise - we had a gorgeous room in a four suite cottage on the lake with a porch and a fireplace. It was a long weekend in May and we got our third night free! The lake is an emerald colour and absolutely beautiful. You can also rent a canoe. Here's the website - enjoy!
