A: First of all, you do not go to the City Hall to change your name, you have to do this through the Provincial Government, Department of Vital Statistics. They will send you the necessary forms and the necessary instructions. This is done as your birth records must be changed. Their website is http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/ Just click on the Legal Change of Name link and it will take you to the correct page which has all of the necessary information for changing your name including the forms and procedures.
