Question about commuting in Vancouver?

Q: -How is the security and safety of Skytrain? how do you inform the security guard if you are on your way? and how they will help you? -Is it safe for students to commute by Skytrain from Surrey to Vancouver at around 8:30 to 9:10 or 10 pm? and how much crowded is Skytrain in those hours?

A: in the evening the skytrain is not crowded at all- only during the morning rush and after-work commutes. also, the last few trains of the night (usually at 1am, depending on the day) are very crowded especially on the weekends! I ride the train downtown from new westminster to and from work every day. i'm a 21-year old girl who works in fashion, and i never have had any problem. my friends and i ride the train to go partying downtown on evenings and weekends as well, and it has always been very safe- in my 2 years of doing this i have never seen any violence or had any creeps talk to me!! some girls i know carry a can of pepper spray to make them feel more safe- but honestly, i dont see the need, i have never been close to experiencing anything remotely dangerous or harmful. just keep to yourself and mind your own business and no one will pay attention to you.
