Q: what would be the insurance and registration costs of a 2004 chrysler intrepid be. its price is $4 780. a breakdown of the prices would be nice. plz help thank you remember this is for vancouver, bc, canada

A: I'd suggest the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) website. http://www.icbc.com/ ICBC is a crown corporation, and they take care of vehicle registration as well. The answer to your insurance costs question depends on the principal operator, not the car, and such factors as age and driving record are taken into account. Look for $600 per year and up--depending on the coverage you choose. If you budget $100 for a BC licence plate, you might be pleasantly surprised--but not by much. If you think your car might need engine repairs to get through an exhaust emissions test, leave it at home. Because of the mild coastal winter, roads don't get salted as much as elsewhere in Canada, and you can buy older used cars still in good shape body-wise out here. You may also be required to pay BC sales tax on the car, even if you already own it. Sales tax is payable on thing purchased in BC, or brought here for use in BC.
