Has Anyone Hiked in the Vancouver or Victoria, BC Region?

Q: I am looking for some good hiking trails of between 5 and 10 miles length to go on when visiting BC next week. I especially appreciate waterfalls and rivers.

A: The Baden-Powell Trail in North and West Vancouver is pretty good, recommend from Deep Cove to Lynn Valley section, but access is a problem unless you have two cars or don't mind using a cab at one end. Probably your best bet overall is Lynn Headwaters Park, which is accessible by bus or car, and it connects with Baden Powell and some other trails. You could spend all day in that area easily. It's a nice trail, and runs alongside Lynn Creek for much of the way. Lynn Creek is very clear and very cold. Check on the web, and also look for Lynn Canyon park, which is often very busy but is still very nice. Take a map, cell phone, food, water, and extra clothing. People get lost up there every year.
