Q: Just wondering
A: East Vancouver running from Commercial drive at Hastings to Hastings West is particularly "ghetto". It is rated as the worst in North America in terms of drug user ratios. It also has the highest prostitution areas of the lower mainland. I have lived down in that area and can tell you that it is not unsafe. As long as you mind your own business, don't flash your cash and leave valuables exposed..you will be alright. regardless, it is not a bad area, just people who are down and out or have bad luck. nothing more nothing less.
