Q: I am moving there from Australia. I was wondering if it really is as good as some say? And I'm freaking out about the weather, am I totally gonna freeze? haha Anything else you wanna tell me about it or Canada in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
A: Vancouver is beautiful. It does rain quite a bit. Vancouver (and the rest of the lower mainland) boasts the warmest climates in all of Canada year round so you won't "freeze." I'm from Toronto, Ontario but have been doing a bit of research on Vancouver myself because I will be moving there too. i visited last month and fell in love with the city, and the White Rock area just 40 minutes away. There are mountains to the north and beaches to the south and tons of parks (like the rest of Canada, we are very "park-y") which pretty much covers all outdoor activities. A friend of mine told me that in order to survive the grey sky winters and excessive rains during winter (very little snow BTW) everyone just goes to Hawaii or some place sunny for vacation in the winter.
