Vancouver , B.C . drivers test?

Q: What are the laws (My bf is going there this summer and he wants to get his drivers test out of the way there )Is it a long prosses like here in ont. ?Please help ?

A: You need to take a multiple choice test (usually on a computer) to get your Learner's Licence or 'L' meaning you can now drive with a fully licenced driver over the age of 25 as a supervisor. You have to have your L for 12 months before you can take your class 7 or 'N' test - which is a road test (you can't take it right away as Gloria suggests). If and when you pass your N test you can drive without a supervisor, but you can't have more than one passenger who isn't immediate family (unless you have a supervisor in the passenger seat), you can't have ANY alcohol in your system, and you must display a green N sign on the back of your vehicle. You have to have your N for 24 months (18 if you pass an approved driver training program and don't get any violation tickets or "at fault" accidents) before you can take your full (class 5) licence test - a longer, slightly harder (in theory) road test. After passing the class 5 test you are (finally) a fully licenced driver!
