Can you tell me more about the neighbourhood in Vancouver, Canada?

Q: Me and my wife are planning to move to Canada, however, we need some more detailed information about the city. Here are some questions that I need to know: 1. Which city/neighborhood that is the best to live and to raise a family in Vancouver, Canada? (Also affordable....^o^) 2. I want to live near the city that also offer the good school for my kids later on....could somebody give me more information about it? (we haven't have a kid yet, but planning it soon...) 3. Where to rent an affordable apartment for 1 bedroom?(according to question #1) 4. What bank that gives a good interest rates and easy to use it everywhere? 5. What is the good IT company in Vancouver, Canada? My interest job would be as an Help desk support, System analyst, and anything that related to the hardware and software. Thank you so much guys to help me answer my questions! H.Y

A: Vancouver West is probably one of the best places to raise a kid. I like Kerrisdale. However, it tends to be expensive. Contrary to what some people might say, East Vancouver isn't all that bad anymore. I have a cousin that lives on east 49th I think and they love it! Some neighborhoods are worse than others, but it is much much cheaper than the west end. West Vancouver is great, but again, rather expensive and you can't really rent anything. North Vancouver is cheaper than west vancouver, and a bit safer than east van. My advice is to come to Vancouver and look around to find neighborhoods that you like! Also, stay away from Surrey, Burnbaby etc. but you can check them out if you do come up here. They are cheap, but not actually in the city itself. Places to stay away from: Downtown Eastside, and thats pretty much it. Vancouver west and east vancouver are districts of vancouver while West Vancouver and North Vancouver are sepereate cities, but only a 5 minute drive over the bridge away from downtown. Surrrey and Burnaby etc. are further away from the city. There are good schools everywhere. Be warned: Like anywhere really, Vancouver teens do drugs and there is a lot of pot going around. Drinking and smoking are normall amongst teens. Im not sure about the west side and east side, but I know that West Vancouver>North Vancouver (concerning drugs) and I am pretty sure that the Westside>eastside (better than meaning less, or strictly pot, drinking, smoking) I think that the Westside is better than North Van too, but dont hold me on that. And not saying that everyone does hardcore or any drugs, im just saying that its there, like everywhere.
