A: any place in north or west van is good. If you want to stay nearer to the "downtown" of those areas the area around Lonsdale Avenue and the Lions Gate Hospital in North Van. would be best for you. At the foot of Lonsdale Ave there is the Lonsdale Quay which is an open market type plaza but more important has the sea bus connections to downtown Vancouver. Its a short ten minutes ride over on the ferry and that puts you right beside the skytrain connection (light rail) which connects to the rest of the main city.
