Q: Just want to confirm if there is. Because someone is recruiting here in our country for an employment in the said hotel. He says that it's still in construction but he assure us that there's a possible work there. Hope someone could help me find out.
A: There may very well be a hotel by that name in Vancouver. However, any reputable recruiter will have a documentation package to support what they say on the phone. This will include letters of understanding from Immigration Canada, legal requirement listing for working in Canada, a sample contract document, a list of your rights as a worker in Canada and British Columbia, information on the community (housing, medical services, cultural contacts, etc). If they ask for money in any way, DON'T continue the conversation. Legitimate recruiters would never do that.
