Q: HI there I am in the Netherlands and going for university in Vancouver and need to take some electric stuff, such as water boiler but I am not sure with the electric voltage. Is it 110 as USA or different , please answer
A: The voltage is 120,The term 110 is not the proper voltage, but the minimum voltage required to operate are electric devises. The actual voltage coming out of the receptacles are between 116 and 119.The further away you get from the transformer the lower the voltage. The resistance in the wiring causes a voltage drop .When they call it 120 or 110 there both right.Ones the maximum and one`s the minimum.
