A: Whissler is a cooler place in summer and warmer in winter, because Winnipeg is stinking hot in summer and bitterly cold in winter. Winnipeg is just not a place to go to ski at any time of year. It is flat, river flood plain. Kelowna is as hot in summer, down in thje valley, but up in the hills Kelowna is much cooler as long as it is there is not a forest fire. Wissler is of course west of the main coastal range of mountains so it gets rain and snow far more than either Kelowna or Winnipeg, but during the summer Whissler is very pleasant most years.
