Q: I live in Winnipeg Manitoba. Me and my mama just wanted to know if there are any dutch schools in winnipeg? example; my friend peggy goes to chinese school, only on saturdays, and goes to my english school on weekdays.. any like that? we want to improve my dutch D: if there isn't, any other suggestions?

A: Depends on where in the city you live. Many of the divisions offer various language classes after school two or three times a week for two hours. I do believe that Seven Oaks School Division did offer Dutch at one point but I don't think they do now. If you can't find Dutch, why not try another language. I am guessing you are young so other languages should be easier for you to learn. We speak English at home but my daughter is in French Immersion and will be taking Spanish in High School. If your mum speaks dutch have her and anyone in your family or dutch community help you with that language and then try to take a heritage language class in your school division. Maybe French, Spanish or Japanese. It will only serve to help you in the future! God luck, it sounds like you have a head on your shoulders and and interest in learning! Good for you!
