Q: I'm debating between moving to BC or MB. People are telling me that houses in Winnipeg is cheaper and more affordable to live. But I really like the nice weather in BC but I'm afraid that it'll be hard to find a job there. Any suggestions/ideas/comments about these two places? Thanks.

A: Campbell River is a beautiful town. Unless you are skilled you might find it hard to find work here. If you are looking for entry level tourism or retail jobs at minimum wage then you won't have a problem finding work. Housing prices here have skyrocketed and they say it won't stop any time soon. You could look at the Realtors online to find housing prices. Most prices are now out of touch to the average single or family. Yes, the weather is a lot warmer than other parts of the country but some find that they can't handle the cool, damp, near constant rain from about October to March. Our snow is a definite challenge even for those seasoned drivers; it's not like prairie snow. It's heavy, slushy snow that turns to ice and makes the road treacherous to drive or walk on.
