Q: Hi Myself and my husband are moving to Winnipeg in September, looking for a better quality of life. Obviously we are both really nervous about moving. We are both 22 years old, but have been working since we left school at 16, so we have plenty of work experience. I was just wondering about child care in Canada. We plan to have children in a year or two, provided you have been working at a company for a year or two, do you recieve maternity pay, as you would in the UK? I have lots more questions only someone from the 'Peg could answer, so would appreciate it if someone out there would like to become 'pen pals!' (And I know how cold it gets out there...it's just a dream of ours to live in Canada). Thanks!

A: Winnipeg is a very nice city to live and it's very nice to see the seasons change... The winter is very cold but when the springs came you can see flowers everywhere, the summer is hot and the days are very long the sun sets at 10PM, in the autumn is very nice to see the colors of the trees... I am not so sure but I think you have 1 year of pay maternity . The cost of living here in winnipeg is cheap if you compare to others big cities in canada. Winnipeg is a multicultural city and you will be very welcome here.
