Q: I am going to be visiting Winnipeg in the summer What is a good motel not far from either the Forks or the University of Manitoba Campus that someone could recommend ?
A: Depends on your price range. Near the U of M I'd recommend either CanadInn Fort Gary or Fort Gary Express. There is also a Super 8 near there too. All are on Pembina Hwy which makes it easy to go most places in Winnipeg by bus. Near The Forks there is all of the downtown hotels, as well as the Inn at The Forks. Downtown there is the Place Louis Riel, The Delta, Holiday Inn and Radisson. I wouldnt recommend The Charterhouse...grungy and not very safe inside. Depending on when you are coming in the summer, the U of M sometimes will rent out the dorm rooms at a good rate too. You could check with them. Enjoy Winnipeg! When you are at The Forks visit the Travel MB booth, they will have some excellent coupon books and help you a lot.
