Q: is it normal for someone to visit your home from canada registered savings plan ? I just had a baby (i month )and already have one (3 yrs ) , i didnt get around to saving up yet for them. I recieved a phone call from someone saying they were from canada registered savings plan but she wants to come to MY home and give me a 20 min presentation and this cant be done over the phone . Ive tried looking online and cant really find anything related to this... she leaves me with a cell phone number and tells her to call if i cant make this appointment. Thing is though , is she called from a private phone number and at 7 p.m. The only other thing i can think of is that ive been on baby websites and coupon surfing .... maybe thats how my info got out? ~ but she had the wrong address... so hmm i have NO idea.
A: I think it's just an advertising presentation. They probably got your information through something you signed up for inadvertently online. If I were you I'd politely decline the offer because it sounds like this person is going around to anyone who has registered information in the realm of savings plans and is hounding them for a sale.
