Q: My friend and I are taking a long weekend trip, stopping in St Paul, MN and would like to head up to Canada for a couple days. We are thinking of Winnipeg or Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay seems to have the must scenic places. I really wasn't able to find much in Winnipeg except the usual zoo, museum, etc... Anyone have any ideas?
A: In Winnipeg, you could go the Forks and eat some cool food. With any luck, their Folk Festival will be going on while you are there. THe Peg has a pretty good theatre district. The WInnipeg Zoo is pretty cool, and I think it's only $2 -- and, of course, is the 'birthplace' of Winnie the Pooh. Betcha didn't know that ;) Thunder Bay would be your choice if you wanted to enjoy wilderness. Lots of great climbing spots, hiking, etc. Old Fort William could be interesting for someone who's never been there before. If i had to choose between the two, I would choose Winnipeg
